Seeking entry clearance post HSMP approval: First experience

Post by bond0077 » Sat Sep 01, 2007 6:22 pm

Hi

Post my approval for HSMP when I was in UK, I came down to india and went to the mumbai vfs to submit my application.

Faced first hurdle that since my current employer has registered to Business express program, the will not accept my application over the counter. It has to come only through the company.

Now I am in the process of seeking relieving letter from the company with a view to apply immediately.

I had one query : Can we show money invested in Fixed deposit receipts as available funds. Also should we show the invested amount or the maturity amount since the deposits, some of them, are long term.

Can anybody provide me a format of the letter showing the funds in detail. Should it be a part of the main cover letter or a separate letter itself.

Also what are the documents required to be submitted for dependant stamping - wife and kid.

Please advise.

They must have got their wires crossed; I thought that Business Express fell under WP, not HSMP. Your entry clearance under HSMP should in no way be linked to any employer (past, current, or future), and your application should come from you, not any employer. Re funds, in my entry clearance I showed, in addition to the current account statements, portfolio statements with stocks and bonds.

I wrote a query to the VFS office but to no avail. They still maintain that my application needs to come through the company.

My query is that while showing fixed deposit receipts from various banks, should I total the principal amount or the maturity amount.

Also please let me know the approximate funds that I need to show, since I want to take my wife and infant daughter along with me.

Do not want to show too low or too high funds hence the query.

Might you have done something wrong in the application, perhaps by selecting 'work permit' instead of 'permit-free employment' ? Others from Mumbai seem not to have encountered this problem.

I had written HSMP on the form. They checked my passport and i have a valid work permit till 12/09/2007. 10 days more.

Is it possible that since this is a work permit to HSMP transfer case they would have brought in the BEP ?

I am really shell shocked at this - now my approval letter is valid only for a month, and tomorrow i going to my current employer to seek the relieving letters.

Any other option as for me the timeline is very critical.
