Spouse name in passport

Post by kiladik » Wed Jan 09, 2008 5:05 am

Hi,

Iam married and do I need to endorse the spouse name in my passport or viceversa. I have the marriage certificate but the passports are not endorsed.

Marriage certificate carry the same names as in educational certificates for both of us and the names are not changed after marriage.

Regards
KK

Why? Is this a requirement of the country that issued the passports? If so, which country is that?

Nope..its not at all a requirement. As long as u have enough proofs to show that you are married (certificates/photos) you dont need to endorse the passports...

Hiya,

Don't bother with endorsements. This is not a legal requirement and I am certain nobody in India would need to do such a thing.

And this is certainly not a requirement for UK. Nevertheless, I would be glad to know if anyone else had to get this done because of HSMP/EC.

Cheers.
