Transfer of Status work permit to Tier 1

Hi,

I am currently on employer sponsored work permit. I would like to get my visa status transferred to tier 1. I have following questions regarding the same, can anyone help?

1) What is the process of getting visa status transfer?
2) Do I have to provide reason for being transferred to new visa status?
3) While transferring visa status from Work permit to HSMP, does immigration authorities approach current employer for approval and/or information?
4) What is the usual turn aournd time to get visa status transferred?

1. Please go through the tier 1 guidance notes.
2. No.
3. Maybe. But if they do it will only be for information regarding earnings you declare in your application .... not for any approval.
4. Can be anything from 4 weeks to 14 weeks.
