I haven't heard back yet - my appeal was delivered March 19, and I am sure it will take AT LEAST 2-3 weeks. I won't be contacting them until 1 month passes - no need to distract them from actual work. I am not in a hurry, because in any case I won't be coming earlier than 1 May, and after 1 May a flood of people from new EU members is expected. I wonder what will happen to the HSMP then.

Robin,

Please do not use CAPS - it comes across as screaming.

The consideration of an appeal just like that of an initial application is determined by the documentation submitted. Since this is case specific then there is no one who really knows how long your review would take. However it is likley that the file will be given to a designated caseworker who may be familiar with your file thus eliminating the 'waiting for an available caseworker' time. I suggest you stick to the 6-8 weeks time frame yet again.
