Tier 1 Application

I have seen many cover letter formats, I found that everybody is attaching the BIA point calculator report along with the application.

I will be migrating with my wife and a kid, for that I will need the maintenance funds of 6000 pounds. BIA point calculator has only 1 option of 2800 pounds for the main applicant.

Is it necessary for me to attach the same report with my application?
