London - Stamped passport sent via royal mail

Post by TRANSITIONCASE » Tue Aug 12, 2008 5:29 pm

Hi All,

I have applied for leave to remain under Tier 1 (General) from within UK, awaiting HO response. Can anyone tell me from first hand experience, HO sends passports which service of Royal Mail. Is there is major delay in time HO dispatches it and actually received at destination.

I am trying to establish if there is value in going for Courier pick up from HO. Please share first hand experiences.

Thanks in advance.

IMO the courier pickup option is more for peace of mind than anything else. I'd trust courier more than any postal service any day, given a choice.

How we return your documents wrote:If you are in the United Kingdom, your documents will be returned to you by post to the address you provide on your application. If a representative makes an application on your behalf your documents will be returned to him/her. Your documents will be returned using recorded delivery. If you want your documents to be returned by special delivery, you should provide a prepaid special delivery envelope. You can also arrange for your documents to be collected by courier at your own cost. If you would like to arrange a courier, put a courier request in writing by fax to 0114 207 6555.
If you are outside the United Kingdom, your documents will be returned in the same way you sent them to us. For example, if you took them to a visa application centre, the visa application centre will return them to you.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
