Maintenance Funds Quick Clarification|| Please have a look

Post by Korey » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:11 am

Hi ,
I have been following on most of the posts in this comminity and since the dates matter a lot with maintenance funds, starting a new thread to clarify my case.

I have been maintaining a minimum balence of 2800 GBP since April 8th in my salary account. There was a transation of 2.5 lacks from my brother's account on April 8th. This was for a transaction of selling my car to him and I have a delivery reciept of the sale and a photocopy of the vehicle's RC book in my name and a letter from my brother stating the same .

The period that I would be showing the maintenance funds in my account is from 20th May till 25th August and there were no major transactions during this period.

So should I mention about the above transaction of 2.5 lacks in my covering letter?

The reason i am asking is because its the salary account and I am showing the statements of April also for claiming points for salary, so they would see that anyway.

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated on this

Thanks

Korey

Hello,

Since this is ur salary account then it would be good if you explain your case in the cover letter sent along with the application properly and also provide original evidence supporting ur case. To give you an example my name was spelt incorrectly very frequently in my marksheets from board / university. For this in year 2000 I made an affidavit and I sent original copy of affidavit along with the application documents and made point about this in my cover letter.

Hope this helps...

Regards

Hi - Thanks for u'r prompt response. Just wanted to check in this case, what kind of an affidavit would i require?

I am thinking of attaching a photocopy of my brother's passport, copy of my car RC and a letter from him.

Should i get a notory seal and stamp on this letter ?. Please let me know on whats the best way to do the affidavit?

Thanks

Karthik

Ask your brother to write a letter on a plain paper. He could either state that the money was transferred as the sale price of a car that he bought from you or state that he has given you the money for your maintenance in UK during the initial days (up to you which reason you wish to use).

Attach a copy of your brother's bank account statement showing the transaction.

No need for affidavit or notary.
