The guys currently under IGS would be treated as currently under Tier 1 Post study work.

Big Confusion: which is the correct form of application VAF

Post by Bilal Warraich » Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:21 am

Hi There,
I am currently on IGS visa that will last till May 2009, thereafter I will extend my stay by switching over to Tier 1 Post Study work .

Currently being on IGS , I want my wife and 5 years old and 4 years old kids to join me from Pakistan. But unfortunately there is a big confusion that which visa form is to be used;
1) VAF10 , or
2) VAF 2.

Please guide me on this issue as soon as possible. I,ll be grateful to you for your help and kindness.

Couldn't understand the reason of posting a Tier 1 (post-study work) related query in a forum meant for Tier 1 (General) and HSMP discussions!! Forum dedicated to Tier 1 (PSW) discussions - UK Tier 1 (post-study work) visas

What is the duration of the IGS visa - 1 year or 2 years? If the latter, then with just 9 months leave remaining I don't know if it would be wise to apply for dependents or if BHC will grant EC at all.

If you apply for Tier 1 (PSW) under the transitional arrangements, will your leave be extended beyond May 2009?? If so, then my suggestion would be to first apply for Tier 1 (PSW) and once it is approved, then apply for your dependents to join you in UK as Tier 1 (PSW) dependents.
