Workpermit for an PBS Tier 1 (General) holder

Hi,

I am working for an IT firm in india. I have PBS Tier1 visa till sep 2011, But in my company they are planning to send me to Uk for a short term travel.
As per my company norms they r not ready to send me on my Tier1 Visa. They are saying that they will initiate a business visa ( work permit).

I was in a big confusion weather to accept or not.

I wanted to know weather my tier1 Visa gets cancelled if they applied for a WP for me?

I would be greatful if some body advice me in this regards ASAP.

Hi,
Business visit visa is not same as work permit(is a resident visa). If they are giving you a business visit visa, then you can have both business visit visa and Tier 1 on your passport. One of my friends who got HSMP after work permit had his work permit invalidated. If the same logic is applied, the latest resident visa( work permit) should invalidate the Tier 1 visa issued earlier.
You might want to search through the forums or take advice from a immigration consultant before you commit yourself to anything with your employer.
