Good day, everyone,

See the notes from the BIA website:
The offices cannot consider your application if you are:

a person with exceptional leave to remain;
a person with discretionary leave to remain or who has been given humanitarian protection;
applying for permanent residence on the basis of 14 years' residence;
==>applying for an extension of your visa on the highly skilled migrant programme;
a business person, innovator, sole representative or investor (form BUS)
a seaman;
a Gurkha; or
an elderly dependant.

I suppose this is for extending your stay under Tier 1 or HSMP. That is from initial 3 years to next 2 years. I think they consider applications for ILR

This BIA link also mentions PEOs will not consider "Highly Skilled Migrant Programme - form SET(o)".

Is it true that I can not apply in person for ILR when my HSMP expires in 02/2009? I am a 1+3+3 HSMP holder.

Anybody (pure HSMP case) who recently applied ILR at any of PEO? pls clarify.

Many thanks!

Hi
You can apply in person for ILR if you are finishing your 5 years time on purely HSMP or Work permit basis. But you cannot get HSMP extention at any PEO.
