HSMP holder Working Part-time and doing Business same time

Post by inlondon2005 » Sun Jan 25, 2009 2:34 am

Dear forum junior & senior members I am back to this forum again. Its a very useful forum no doubt. I want to ask you a very simple questions?

1st My Point:
Due to Recession & current Job crises in IT industry (Well most companies are not hiring HSMP migrants preferring locals then us and that is very true).
I am doing a part-time contract job and do some over-time to support me and my family but the income is lower then what I have to declare to get HSMP extension.

Now My Questions?
Q/1- Can I formed an umbrella company/or registered as a IT Contractor and continue my current job?

Q/2- If yes I can in Q/1? then what is better, I will be registered as self-employed or employed in my own company? if self-employed then can I show current employment along with that. does it creates any confusion to visa officer/case worker?

Q/3- If no then I want to keep my job so then I have to show only income through my company? which i will form next month. It is possible to do a job on NI in one side (which u are not declaring) and running your business other side using PAYE scheme/format without NI or as Self-employed which is better?

I do hope I will receive the valuable answers from this forum.

Thank you in advance.

Hey buddy, sorry to see your situation. I hope you get a good job somewhere.

Well according to my knowledge, it should not be a problem if you run a business and do a part time job. I think you can combine the earnings and show it to embassy. Though I think it should be better for you to consult some immigration expert there only.

Well I am frightened to listen that companies are preferring locals there instead of migrants. I also work in IT and planning to migrat to UK. I work with Network Security. What do you suggest?
