Maintenance funds in more than one account

Post by chanti2810 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:53 am

Hello All,

I am planning to apply tier-1 from India for the first time.

Is it okay if i show maintainence funds in two accounts with min. balance of 2000 GBP in one account and min. balance of 1000 GBP in other.

one is --> ICICI savings account. --> min. balance for 3 mnths is --> 2000 GBP
other is --> HDFC joint account.(me & XYZ person) --> min. balance for 3 mnths is --> 1000 GBP

I won't be eligible for tier-1 starting from 31st March. So, I can't push money into single account and wait for more time. Please suggest.

Thanks in Advance!!

2 accounts will be fine. There is no requirement (that I am aware of) that states that your funds need to be in one account only.

Hi...

My US bank account had more than 5000$ from 31st December 2008 to 6th January 2009 and I have the required statement to prove it.

I transferred that money to ICICI bank account on 6th Jan... and it credited into my bank account on 12th January 2009

I want to apply for the VISA and I cannot show that my Indian bank account had more than 2800GBP as the money exists in the Indian bank account only from 12th of January.

Can you tell me what should I do in this kind of situation, can I write in the covering letter that I have multiple bank accounts and the international money transfer took 5 days ( for which I can get proof from ICICI) and that is the reason I had a gap of 5 days...
