Can a contractor be incude GST rate in previous earnings?

say contracting at $60 + GST /hr = $68/hr

Will get gross earnings be $60 or $68?

I don't think so, GST/VAT is not a component of income.

If I get GST right i.e. Goods Service Tax, it is not a part of income and cannot be considered for earning.
