New here: Help with HSMP extension into tier 1

Post by lizrich002 » Fri May 29, 2009 12:56 pm

Dear all,

I just joined this forum and greatly encouraged by the wealth of information available on this forum. Please keep on the good work.

For all those that have got their extension, I am happy for you as I understand how these things could be.

Some of my questions may have been touched in previous posts but I require precise answers to these questions.

1. I found out on this forum that you could apply for early extension, do you necessarily have to have an excuse to do that? My 2 yr leave expires end of Nov 09 but I am seriously thinking of early extension.
I am the principal applicant and my spouse is here as my dependant. I have been lucky cos I just moved from a fixed contract role to a permanent job last month.
My spouse's contract expired in April and on one interview he went for, the HR lady was worried about the length of time left on his visa saying what if the renewal does not go through. We are still awaiting a response from the company.
Also we have not been able to secure a mortgage as much as we want to because of the visa validity as well.
Are these good reasons to apply for an early extension.

2. I have 2 jobs cos I do not make up to the required level on my main job. The 2nd job is paid through cheque which I deposit in the bank anytime afterwards which can be up to 2 weeks sometimes. I get a payslip for the job, if I present this with the bank statement, will it be alright (there is no ref to where the cheque is from on the bank statement).

3. I have a current account where all the salary goes into but I also have a savings account. The current account does not have up to £1333 in it cos I move a large part to my savings account. Can I use my savings account as maintenance proof. I am also a bit worried cos I have about £9000 in my savings account.

All advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes.. you can happily appy for an early extension. I have seen many cases in this forum who have got their early extension. You could mention simple reason being that Employer concerned about the current length of stay in his VISA and would want assurance in Further Leave to Remain in UK.

As far as Salary Slips are concerned, your Bank Payment should clearly descibes the source the payment/salary is made from. i.e. Name of the Company. Otherwise Case Worker wont be able to corroborate it with your Payslips.

Submitting Saving A/c statements is absolutly fine however dont forget to mention it in your Cover Letter.
