Switching from Tier 2 (sponsored) to Tier 1 (highly skilled)

Post by stewie » Sat May 30, 2009 1:24 pm

Hi,

I have a question and would appreciate a competent advise.

I'm currently on Tier 2 (sponsored by employer) which will expire in 2.5 years, by which time I'll have full 5 years in the UK.

On Tier 1 highly skilled I score 90 points currently. I'm about to turn 30 years old shortly (time flies!).

Is it worth to apply for Tier 1 now? What benefits/negative sides would this have? If I get a rejection, would it affect my current Tier 2 status anyhow?
If I get an approval, can I switch later?

Thank you

Dude,

If you apply for Tier 1 now, and if gets approved, your Tier 2 gets void.
At one time, you can only hold one VISA.
So, think before you take you the plunge.

Apply for Tier 1 only when you are planning to leave your current organization, and if you are not enjoy on Tier 2.
