ILR Council tax-urgent (Pls reply senior members)

Post by neha2005 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 6:08 pm

Hi

Just want to inquire that me (main applicant) and my husband are due to apply ILR next month. We are living in shared accomodation, therefore not paying any council tax, just the rent. Now I am bit worried that this may affect our ILR application. However one of my friend told me nothing to worry about as you haven't claimed any benefit from council, so even if your name is not on register this is not a big deal. Can anyone reply if it's true or not. Though it doesn't say in application form that you must pay council tax but still any answers or past experience will be appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Don't think this will affect outcome of your application.

Shouldn't affect the outcome. Usually in shared accomodation the council tax is included in the rent. You can always double check that with your landlord.
