Tier 1 Dependent Visa

Post by ather » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:45 pm

Hi All,

My Tier 1 visa expire on march 2010. I recently got married and wants to bring my wife here in UK on dependent visa. I have less than 5 months left on my visa.

Can I still apply for my Wife's dependent Visa as i got less than 5 months? Does it complicate things if you have less time on your visa?

Many Thanks

Ather

Yes you can, but, she will be issued a visa with expiry date same as of yours, which will be expiring in five months time. Then will apply again for extension along with you and will pay fee again. So, why not wait for a few months and then apply for her visa after your extension 8) ???

There is no harm in applying for her dependant VISA now. When you apply for extension in March 2010, your wife can apply for extension at the same time and will have to pay an additional fee of only GBP50.

Right Push, but he should be super-quick in doing so. Because GBP 50 is only aplicable if she submits application at same time with him in UK (HO recommends to submit extension applications one month before expiry). If she submits extension application separately, the fee would be GBP465. For her initial application she will pay GBP675.

1- If she applies for dependent visa, comes before expiry in UK and apply for extension at the same time with her husband, it would be: 675 + 50 GBP

2- If she applies for visa, get it, and for any reason cannot apply with him for extension, and apply afterwards: 675 + 465 GBP

3- If she applies for visa, after his extension: 675 GBP (and there are several cases on the forum where guys got early extension, even five months before expiry date).

So, Mr. Ather, choose what suits you, but as I said, you should be acting very fast for the first option.

You can apply immediately, bring wife in UK and apply for extension together. Come on man...you are recently married..

If for some reason, your extension or her dependent visa is delayed...you will end up waiting more time..

Just my view ;-)
