Will this scenario work

If i am going for extension in April 2010. Can i show salary for period Feb 2009 to nov 2009 (given that i qualify for extention based on these months salary) only as it falls within 15 months?

To add to what Chetan said, you can do this but make sure you provide bank statements for 3 months period not older than a month old for the maintenance fund requirement.

A majority of people use latest bank statements for previous earnings proof and maintenance requirement as well, hence it deserves a mention here.
