Letter for Maintenance Funds - Is this fine?

Post by balak2 » Mon Jan 11, 2010 3:33 pm

Today I got the letter from Citibank for my maintenance funds. Given below is the format:

January 11, 2010

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to state that XXXXXX holds a Citi Suvidha savings account with us savings A/c no: XXXXXX since XXXXXXX

On the basis of information as available with the Bank, as of January 11th, 2009 the account holders withdrawal balance is Rs XXXXXXX/- Equivalent to GBP XXXXXXXX(Per GBP is 73.49) and the minimum balance maintained for the period 01 Oct 2009 to till date is Rs XXXXXX/- Equivalent to GBP XXXXXX(Per GBP is 73.49)

I'll be submitting my bank statements as well. Is the following format fine? Also, the exchange rate is the one used by Citibank and not the one at Onada. In fact, this is the GBP Selling rate by Citibank. Is this OK?

You have to amend the above format. It should mention that you have consistently maintained above X amount from X to Y dates.Though mentioning min. amount is same but CWs are paranoid. If they misread it, it will be a problem.

Thanks.

I am also providing my bank statements which are duly signed and stamped with this letter for the maintenace funds.

Also, what about the exchange rates? Is that OK?

You don't have to put exchange rates in bank letter. I think bank does not put exchange rate in the letter. They will only provide you letter with INR. You can then use OANDA for conversion.
