English requirement for Tier 1

Hi All,

I am currently wokring in UK as work permit holder and I would like to apply for Tier 1 Visa (HSMP).

Question related to English qualification:

I did Master of Mangement Studies from BITS-Pilani (4 years course after +2) and it has been recognised as Master's degree by UK NARIC. I have the official letter from UK NARIC.

Also, my institute BITS-PILANi is ready to issue a certificate saying that Master of Management Studies was taught in English only.

So, the question is - Is the letter from institute will be sufficient as a proof for English qualification.

I got this doubt because, I heard from some one that we cannot show Master's degree as a qualification for English. Only the course which was done after +2 (i.e. Under graduation) can be shown for English qualification.

But in my case I am showing my 4 years course after +2 as Master's degree. So, will the letter from institue will be sufficient or do I need to provide anything else.

If your degree is recognized by PBS calculator, then you are good to go. You no need to provide additional proof for English language requirement!

Thank you for the reply. But in Points Based Calculator, there is no field which provides the exact degree details..

It is asking as below when calculating for English requirement.

1. Country of Study - India
2. State - Rajasthan
3. Qualification - Master's Degree (as my 4 year course was recognised as Masters by UK NARIC)
4. Institution or body - BITS-Pilani (its in the list)
5. Course length - 4 years
6. Course subject - Management

Above are the details its asking and I have provided the answers which I am giving there.

But there is no specific place where it is showing us the actual degree name (like B.SC. CIVIL ENGINEERING, M.TECH Computer Science).

So, please advise if I am looking at correct place only

You are correct, there won't be specific details as you are looking for. What you did was right!

For the course subject you must have selected "Business / Economics / Management / Accounting / Finance" and it awards you 35 points.
