Earnings for Tier 1 extension

HI

I have a well paid job in Australia so i want to claim for earning points for my Tier 1 extension purely based on that.
I am not going to claim points for UK experience as I would have been out of the UK for a year by then. Will this affect my Tier 1 extension application?

I assume not because it is not compulsory to claim for UK experience (5 point)?
