Post by Dimich » Fri Nov 18, 2005 12:04 pm

Dear all,

Is there any troubles to get job in UK with HSMP status? I heard from a colleagues that a lot of companies reject employee with HSMP? Is is true? I'm going to apply HSMP near future, I'm an expert in IT area. Is any difficulties to find a job for IT specialist?

Best regards,

Dmitry

It means dont give too much value to what you have heard. A lot of HSMP visa holders are pursuing successful careers here.

Dimich, there is possibly a confusion here between Work Permit employment and HSMP. A number of employers will baulk at the idea of getting a Work Permit for someone. After all there is an expense involved in getting the Work Permit, and indeed the need to show that the vacancy cannot be filled except by the issue of a Work Permit.

However if someone has HSMP status then the employer is allowed to employ that person without the need to get a Work Permit. Hence there is no reason for an employer to have any concerns about employing an HSMP holder ..... merely a question of taking the usual photocopy of the passport and the visa in the passport.

Thank you for information. I just want to clear this issue, because for me it's really big risk lost job here and not to find job in UK. That's the reason.
Of course, it's better to move other country with job offer. But I haven't any legal status in UK (as I said, I'll apply for HSMP very soon), so I can't search for job.

Regards,

Dmitry
