Tier 1 General MBA Thereafter

Post by puneet123 » Sun Jun 27, 2010 3:30 am

Hello,
I have been in the working in the UK since Aug 2007
My present Tier 1 Visa ( Issued in Aug 2009) Expires in Aug 2012 ( Long Time ahead). So why am i worrying Now ?

I plan to do a 2 year MBA in the UK starting Aug 2011.
Questions.
a) Do i need a student visa for that ?

b) Even though my Tier Visa Expires in Aug 2012, can I apply for an extension in May-June 2011. Since at that time i will have the last 12 months earning ?

c) Does Studying count in the 5 year period which is required for the Indefinate Leave to Remain Qualifying Period ?

d) After MBA , do I again need to Apply for Tier 1 ? I would not be eligible then as would have no earnings...only expenses:)

thanks

Not really, or should I say universities don't mind. It'd help if you'll be working alongside (part time maybe?).

Too early in my opinion. 3-4 months early works but that's just too early.

Yes it does but just don't make it your primary reason for being in the UK.
d) After MBA , do I again need to Apply for Tier 1 ? I would not be eligible then as would have no earnings...only expenses:)
It depends on your circumtances really, if your visa is expiring and you need to stay here and not eligible for ILR then you have to extend your Tier 1
thanks
Goodluck.

Extending your tier 1 visa would be difficult if you study because, you will have to score points to extend your visa and you will not have enough points if you dont have good earnings.
