Pay date vs Pay Period

Post by dainteej » Mon Aug 23, 2010 10:23 am

Hi guys I need some quick help I am applying for my Tier 1 next month and I need some clarification on something.

I am just starting a new job and I wont be paid for the pay period of Aug until September as I started after the payroll.

i am claiming previous earnings for the period 01.09.2009-31.08.2010

will they discount the payment in september for August's pay or is it pay period rather than pay date?

I have readthat it still does not clarify my question because this was income for his business . In business income is recognized depending of the nature of the business when it comes into the bank account or when the invoice and the business recognizes the income. For salary I am not sure if the same rules apply as my payslip will be stating August pay period but the actual payment was not made till september

The point to note from the above link was that the amount was paid outside the 12 months period...

In your case if I am correct-- if the salary slip states that the salary is for the month of august but the amount is credited to your bank account outside the claiming period then IMO it should not be a problem but ofcourse you have to show the bank statement for september to prove that the net amount has been credited to your account..The key is that the salary slip for August should mention the gross and net that you are claiming for....good luck!!

IMO I was thinking it should not be a problem since the guidline state pay period however with the above refusal reason it made me rethink as they may use it to refuse me since the policy is not very specific regarding paydte vs payperiod. I will try to speak with my HR manager today to see if they can rn an exception payroll for this month it would make my life so much easier as with HO its better to be safe than sorry
