Incorrect spelling of my name in Tier 1 acknowledgement lett

I recently applied for a tier1 visa. I received a Home Office acknowledgement letter a few days later with an application reference number. However, I noticed that my name had been mis-spelt in the acknowledgement letter. I am pretty sure that I had not mis-spelt my name when filling up the form.

I sent a letter to the Home Office next day quoting my application reference and requested them to correct the spelling of my name in their records.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Any likelihood this can have any bearing on the outcome of my application?

Dont think so, unless you have made mistakes filling up the form. You have taken the right step by informing HO. Wait for the outcome now.

Hi mate, I had received my acknowledgement letter back in 2008 with wrong name. I was sure that I spelt correct in application form. I never informed HO and got visa as well. Still its fine that you informed. Personally I would say dont worry.
