Name related query.

Post by hsmp2222 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:05 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for tier 1 visa after 2 months and I have one concern on my name in the documents.

There is one extra "space" in the middle of my surname in all my employment related documents(payslips, bank statements, form-16...etc) compare to passport details.

I found it very difficult to change in all records:(

Do I have to take it very seriously about this? or is it OK to proceed and apply for visa?

otherwise what other supporting documents I can submit at the time of filling?

Please provide your valuable inputs based on your experiences and help me.

Thanks

So, as an example, instead of O'Connell, your name is shown as O' Connell?

I can't see that being any problem at all, but wait for expert advice. If your surname is shown as completely different, then I'd be worried, but a simple mis-spelling or typo, such as an extra space, shouldn't create much of a problem. :)

LATER ADDITION: If you're worried about it, you could include a letter, explaining that you've tried to have it changed to omit the extra space. But doing that might draw their attention to it in the instance that they haven't even noticed it to start with :)
