switching to Tier 1 from Tier 2 Dependant

Hi,
I am in the UK for the last 6 months as a Tier 2 Dependant(My husband holds a Tier 2 Visa).Now, I've gained eligibility to apply for Tier 1 General.
It would help if experts can advise whether switching from Tier2 Dependant to Tier 1 General is possible from inside the UK. Appreciate your support and guidance.

Tier 1 general application is closed to applicants from outside UK as well,you need to stick to your present status
