HSMP DEPENDANT

Post by Tara Gussain » Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:48 am

Hi, i am currently on student visa in london and i got married this March 2011 in UK with UK marriage certificate. in the meantime me and my husband applied for HSMP general visa and he got his visa but i got the refusal stating i can not switch within uk from tier 4 general to tier 1 general partner/dependant.

Now i am planing to back India and then apply from there. I have few queries:
1. name and maritail status on my passport is still the same as before, do i need to change it before i make application, We do not want to change that currently because it will take time as i am leaving from here on emergency holidays from my work. Is it mandatory to change beacause we will give the covering letter stating that we do not want to change name.
2. i was living in UK from jan 2010 and done Level 7 qualification, do i still need to give nay english test
3. funds
4. Processing time approximately
5. is there any fast track service available in India
6. what is this inspection report but we have tenancy aggrement
7. Are we supposed to how our communication proofs, but we been living together from past 9 months in UK.

So confused...

Any help would really be appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Tara

1. Your choice. There is no legal requirement for you to change your name after marriage (neither in India nor in UK). Passports do not mention "marital status", only the name of the spouse and that too only if you want it mentioned.
2. Reading this topic should help.
3. As above.
4. As above.
5. No.
6. Inspection report is not required.
7. Showing evidence of cohabitation (e.g. - joint bills, individual letters sent to same address etc). will help prove subsisting relationship.

And, HSMP closed in 2008 so you / your husband couldn't have applied for HSMP in 2011.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
