Tier 1 extension and Dependant extension

Post by rahul8055 » Tue Jul 26, 2011 9:31 pm

Hi,

I received my Tier 1 on 22/Aug/2008 for 3 years (up to 22-Aug-2011). I am due to apply for my extension.
I got married last year, so my wife got PBS dependant on 21/June/2010 up to 20-Dec-2011(I am confused why home office issue her visa up to 20-Dec-11 and not up to 22-Aug-11).

1) My query is should we both(Main applicant + Dependant) apply for extension now as my(Main applicant) visa is expiring?
Or Should I apply for extension now and my wife can apply for extension later in December?

This is very important for me because after December 2011, I will be qualified to apply for ILR.

When will you apply for ILR?

Thanks Vinny for posting what to do in error link.

Technically I can apply for ILR in Dec 2011. But my wife can't apply at the same time because we won't be finishing our 2 year relationship qualifying period.

So what I am planning is we both apply for extension now. (Me on tier 1 extension and same for dependant) so we get 2 year visa. So next year in July we both eligible to submit ILR.

Problem is what happen if Home office return my passport stamping extension only up to Dec 2011 for me and doesn't do anything for my wife???

Vinny,

Do you know whether there is any problem if dependant is not applying with main applicant?
I want to apply for my ILR, and after getting that, may be with in two or three days, to apply for FLR for my wife. She would not be finishing 2 years by the time I apply for ILR. So inorder to avoid complication, I want to do like that.

Any idea, there would be problem, if we apply seperately?

Thanks in advance
