Age clarification

Post by nagaraju.ch » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:18 pm

Hi

I am confused of how many points i get when i apply for Tier1 General extension. I forgot how many i got in the initial Visa Approval.

When i apply first time(23 Feb 2009). I had completed 28 and running on 29.

Could some one advise how many points i get when i go for extension. My date of birth 15 Aug 1981.

Thanks

Hello,

If you look at the application form it self, it is quiet clear. your application was before April 2010. Your age at the time of initial application was 27. So the points you will get is 20 points. It is quiet clear. Don't confuse your self. Don't look at the Points based calculator in UKBA website sometimes it is confusing. If you look at Point G Age Assessment in the application form as given below, it is very straightforward. I've just got my extension approved yesterday. So I am 100% confident on what I am saying. :-)

G. Age Assessment
Before filling in this section of the form, the applicant should refer to the Immigration Rules and the Tier 1 (General) of the points based system Policy Guidance
G1. Please tick the relevant box to confirm the points claimed by the applicant on the basis of his/her age at the date of application for the first grant of leave in the category.

Under 28 years of age
20 points

28 or 29 years of age
10 points
30 or 31 years of age
5 points
