Need guidance - foriegn income

Post by NALL » Fri Dec 09, 2011 2:18 pm

Hi

I have been an avid follower of this forum but never thought of listing.

Anyways. My query below.

I am working in th eUK, however my earning is falling short of 10%.
Now the thing is that I do have other sources of income but all back home.

1)I have apartnership in a shop, for which my partner gives cash to my family every month. The partnership does maintains proper accounting and tax documents, however, there are no bank transactions (in my bank account. Not in UK , not in the home country).

2) I also trade online in commodities. However there are no tax records for the same.

3) My partner has done sone seasonal work this year and I had invested a major part int he capital of the same. This business doesnot has any receipt system (not at the buyinga nd not at the selling stage). But the profit was distributed (after tax) and it effceted my bank account.

I am thinking of including 1 and 3 above in my application. However in 1 the issue is of not having bank transactions and in 3 the issue is not having any proper receipts.

Can some body help me out with what will be the appropriate documents for 1 and 3 above to be filed with my application along with an opinion and / or experience of how documnts from a third world country are perceived by the authorities here in case of extensions.

Thanks

I think you should work for proof pertaining to part 2 and 3 of your query.

My best suggestion will be to meet an accountant and discuss with him. He will sort out, what type of proof you can provide with your earnings.
The question is... to be or not to be....

For 1)
a) Accounts
b) Tax papers
c) Partnership papers

For 2)
a) Just the transactiosn and trading attested by the broker

For 3)
a) Tax receipt
b) partnership papers
For 3, it was a purchase and sell of cattle for Bakra eid. So that explains why we didnt have any supports.

Would someone also let me know how are these documents perceived and are they taken into consideration for extension?

Please also note that all of these are back home and I am a capital partner.

Well! one option is to go for self-employment registration and then try to do some local work. May be part time and increase your income. Try to keep your case, as simple as possible.

By doing this, it will be easy for to get your extension. Secondly, if you apply couple of month earlier, you might get short of days for your ILR. So it is adviable to apply in 28 days of your visa expiry.

Thank you for taking out your time to answer my queries.

My concerns below:

1) I will be short for ILR with the current residency time.

2) My work and other commitments donot allow me to spend anymore time on other work (see 3).

3) I am free lancing on a project online, however, do you thinking registering and paying for tax on that will work. As I will have to pay a lot of tax on the same, I was not willing to do it. Also it will not fill int he total gap.
