Dependent visa for baby

Post by manojult » Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:42 pm

Hi,
I am on Tier 1 visa expiring on August 27th. My wife is on Tier 1 dependent visa. We are expecting a baby in first week of May(Delivery in UK). After that my wife intends to travel to India and return in the second week of August. I can apply for ILR when my current visa expires(End Augusst)
I plan to apply a Indian passport for my child and travel to India.
1. Will the fact tha the visa expires two weeks after entry to UK cause difficulty on entry to UK?
2. Will it be difficult to get Tier 1 dependent visa for my child(given the fact that the visa will be valid for few weeks only)?
3. Can I apply for a visitor visa for my baby (This will save 60K rupees atleast). I can apply for UK citizenship for the child once I get ILR.
Please guide, Thanks

if you search old posts, it is recommended to apply for correct visa only. there may be trouble while entering back to UK if both parenets hold PBS visa and child got tourist visa.
i am not 100% sure if it is possible or not, but choosing option 3 is certainly a cheaper option only if
a) BHC in India issues tourist visa to child especially when parent got PBS visa
b) Immigration in UK allows child to enter w/o much trouble while returning

Hi All,
Thank you for the reply fr (3)
Looking for a reply on these questions....Should I revisit my travel plans or go for a extension before ILR?

1. Will the fact that the visa expires two weeks after entry to UK cause difficulty on entry to UK?
2. Will it be difficult to get Tier 1 dependent visa for my child(given the fact that the visa will be valid for few weeks only)?
