Tier 1 Extension - Queries - Dependant Application

Post by pgaitonde » Thu Feb 09, 2012 11:44 pm

I have some queries on Tier 1 Extension - Dependant application for my spouse. Any help will be really appreciated!!

Wife's maiden name - XYZ ABC
Wife's name after marriage - XYZ PQR

2 Work Permit dependant application (Entry Clearance Visa stamped on the passport) made in Pune, India by the company but stamped on the Visa as Bombay (Diplomatic post) and 1 Tier 1 General Dependant Visa applied within the UK. All the 3 visas were been issued on the maiden name (XYZ ABC). In Oct 2010 applied for new Indian passport from Indian Embassy in London using marriage certificate. All the 3 visas are on the old passport. As the above 2 Work Permits were been applied by the company, I don't know the application date, on when the company applied.

Query

F6. Has the dependant used any name(s) other than the one given at B3 and B4 of this application form in previous United Kingdom immigration applications made in the United Kingdom or abroad?
Yes - go to question F7 No - go to question F10

The answer to the above question is Yes which i have ticked. But Can someone help me with the answers to the below questions

F7. give details of the other name(s) the dependant used

F8. give the details when the application(s) was/were made:

F9. If the application was made abroad, give the British diplomatic post(s) to which the dependant applied.

you seem to know the answers to F7 and F9 as you have mentioned them above, and presumably you know when the application(s) were made- no one in the forum knows your wifes name and when her application was made.

The application were been made by my company so i dont know the application dates, so is it fine to put the Visa validity start date and end date in question F8

surely your wife knows when she signed the form, submitted her passport and gave her biometrics? If not ask the company.

The application were been made by the company so we dont need to sign the form. The company gives us the biometrics date and then we get the passport stamped, but the passport comes into the company and we need to collect it. I no longer work with that company so i cant go and ask them abt it.

So should i mention the biometrics date to be the application date. It works differently when a company sponsors u. The first work permit which i got in 2008 was been applied thru UK and it was sent to india and then i just went to Pune embassy in India and gave fingerprints and relevant documents. They sent the visa to my company via post from Mumbai.

I am lot confused on what should i mention under the point F8. Do you recommend me to go thru a solicitor or an agent while applying for my extension?

when you go to India and submit the docs and biometrics is when you make the visa application. there is no need to be confused or to consult a solicitor. Just put the rough month and year and say you are not sure of the exact date.

As we are going to submit both, old and new passports they will be aware of the application and visa start dates, dont u think so?

Also I had few more queries which i needed to ask is that as my wife has two entry clearance visas on the passport, i have the below questions?

D3. What date was the entry clearance or visa valid from?

Which date should i mention for the above D3 question? The second entry clearance date should be mentioned?

D5. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the dependant’s passport or travel document

Again this should be taken from the 2nd entry clearance visa?

D4. What date is the dependant’s current leave (or permission to stay) valid until

Will the date be the current Tier 1 Dependent expiry date for the above question?

D3 if she has two entry clearance (i.e. two visas applied for from outside the UK) then put the most recent entry clearance.

D5 reference number on the second entry clearance - which is the red number on top right hand side of vingette.

D4 End date on current tier 1 dependent residence permit.
