Tier 1 Dependent Partner in UK - online application

Post by laxmipathi » Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:24 am

Application: Tier 1 Dependent Partner in UK

Recently got my ILR and applying for an extension visa for my wife..

Anyone used online application for Tier 1 Dependent who lives already in the UK.

https://www.gov.uk/tier-1-general/family-members

See section Dependants applying in the UK on their own

https://visasandimmigration.ipt.homeoff ... nt-partner

I have submitted my wife's application online by paying full fee.
At the end there is an checklist document which provides the postal address as below where i need to send printed application and supporting documents..

Tier 1 Dependant Joining
PO Box 3468
Sheffield
S3 8WA

But address line bit confusing as it says "Tier 1 Dependant Joining", Just want to make sure if anyone applied online and sent the application to same address as above.

Thanks
Laxmi

I too have online application done and need to send now.

Website gave the address so I will trust to send it.

However, what documents you are sending, checklist doesn't seem complete.

Don't we need to send sponsorship letter, T1(M) BRP copy etc? I believe we need to.

Can you share list of documents, you are sending with application copy?

iam not sure, if the main applicant can submit proof of maintenance for dependent extension. It wasn't mentioned anywhere in the guide notes.

It rather states: On page 10
47. One of the requirements for family members of Points Based System Migrants is that you must
be able to support yourself for the entire duration of your stay in the UK without needing help from
public funds (for example benefits provided by the state). If you cannot, you could face financial
hardship because you will not have access to most state benefits.

Do you know how old the above notes are from??

Anyway as per the policy guidelines, my guess is, the dependent should have direct access to the funds (which means in his/her personal account or a joint account along with the main applicant).

I could be wrong but thats just my understanding.

If you notice the file name from the link (20150406_immigration_rules_appendix_e_final.pdf ).... latest of 06th April 2015...

And also read point 95) from this document .:

It clearly says

"i) Personal bank or building society statements covering the 90 day period immediately before the
application. The personal bank or building society statements should clearly show:
•the name of the main applicant and/or your name, or (for children only) the name of your other
parent who is also legally present in the United Kingdom;
•the account number;
•the date of the statement;
•the financial institution’s name and logo;
•transactions covering the 90 day period;
•that there are sufficient funds present in the account (the balance must not fall below £630 or
£1890, as above, at any time during the 90 day period).
Only the most recent statement must be dated within 31 days of the date of application."
