Initial approval in 7 days :)

Post by hsmp_aug » Fri Sep 28, 2007 6:04 pm

Hi All,

I just called HO today for reference number for my application.. and the person on phone replied that my application has been processed and HSMP is approved. They have dispatched my docs on 27th itself.

Here are my timelines:
Application received: 20th Sept
Fees deducted: 20th Sept
Referrence no: 230*** (26th Sept)
Approval: 27th Sept
Documents: Still to come (they dispatched them on 27th Sept)

I would like to thank all the members of this forum for this initial success. Your timely advice has really saved the day..

Here are the documents i submitted:
1. Academic Qualifications: (For 30 Points Claim)
- Original degree
- Original consolidated marksheet

2. Previous Earnings – Salaried Employment: (For 45 Points Claim)
- Attested payslip printouts for 12 months
- Bank statements for same period.
- ITR acknowledgement
- Form 16 given by my company.
- Printout of the Income tax of India website where it is mentioned that SARAL is no more used for IT returns in India.

3. Age Assessment: (For 20 Points Claim)
- Original Birth Certificate

4. English Language:
- Letter from University stating my name, degree, date awarded, and that it was taught entirely in English language.

- Original Bachelor's degree (already included as academics proof)

(Please note that TOEFL CBT cannot be used as a valid proof.. I learnt this from this forum where a person was rejected based on that)

TOTAL : 95

I would be glad to assist anyone who has any doubts.

Still waiting for my final documents to come back.. then i'll start my EC process.

THANKS TO ALL !!!!

Congrats mate.

How did you get 'Attested payslip printouts for 12 months '.

Did the attestation have the name and designation of the employer who signed?

Was your ITR acknowledgment stamp in English or Hindi.?

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks guys..

Chicku: Since my employer provides payslips online, so I took a printout of them, went to payroll department and got them attested from authorosed signatory.
It had a signature and a stamp on each payslip. The stamp had the company name as well.

Hi hsmp_aug,

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to know what did you have besides the name of the company. Did your stamp have something, like the designation, of the person who signed your slips.

Thanks for your forthcoming reply.

Regards

No.. my payslips didnt have designation of person signing the payslips.
It just had this..
"Authorized signatory for XXXX"
XXXX= company name.

Thanks for the reply.

Did you bank statements have the name of the employer on it. If not, did you get any letter from the bank for this.

Similarly were your bank statements orginal or you took the print out and authenticated from the bank.

Thanks again for the reply.

Regards

Yes.. Luckily, my bank statements had the company name along with salary.

I have read somewhere that if that is not the case, you can get a letter from the bank, which i believe is difficult. Best way is to get a letter from your employer stating that you have claimed xxxx amount of salary from your company for period from xxx to xxx.

My bank statements were taken from my bank itself. I requested them to give me a statement for 12 month period and they obliged by deducting Rs. 100 as processing fee. Bank statements can either be on Bank letterhead. If not, the printout should be attested by bank with official stamp.

Hi Hsmp_aug,

Did you attach any proof that the finacial year in India ends in March.

The application form says that the suitable evidence needs to be attached for claiming exceptional consideration.

Also when you claim the exceptional consideration on this ground, do you check the 'Income Tax Return covering period claimed for:' box or not.

Thanks for the reply.

Regards.

Chicku,
I just mentioned this fact in my cover letter.. that Financial year in India is April to March.

Yes, I did check that box and i also mentioned in exceptional consideration that since the IT period is not covering the entire claimed period, I am supplying additional proof in the form of Bank Statements.
