previous earnings period

Post by amrhady » Sun Jul 04, 2010 8:47 pm

Hi,

I am applying for Tier 1 on July 12th 2010. As far as I understand I can claim earnings for any 12 consecutive months from 12-April-2009 till 11-July-2010. Is this correct?

I am planning to claim salary from 12-April-09 to 11-April-2010 - Is this period valid? (It will include April 09 full salary)

Technically you should be fine ... but to be safe i would keep some buffer for the START of salary date within 15 month period.

if you want to include April 09 salary, your earnings period should be counted from 1st April 09 - 31st March 2010

Thanks for your reply.

But...please correct me if I'm wrong, I understand that it's the salary transfer date is what matters and not the "work days" corresponding to that salary?

Also, If I claim the period you indicated above (1st April 09 - 31st March 2010), and my application is on the 12th of July - I would be exceeding a 15 month, wouldn't I?

Sorry not quite following, do you mean I should make my start date after April 12 2009?

Hello Amrhady,

12-April-09 to 11-April-2010 is exactly 12 months period (you can claim for this period as long as your pay slip show the last date you worked is 11th April) no matter it was paid after a week or so.

Also see the link below for calculation of 12 months;
