Tier 1 renewal query

My Tier 1 is from Sep 2008 to Sep 2011, so it expires in Sep next year.. can I apply for renewal now or is too early? Do I have to give any reason?

Why do you want to apply so early? The ans to your question is yes you can apply, you don't have to give any reason, however they would only give you 2 years extension from the time of stamping the visa so you would need aa second extension anyway.

Agree with the above reply but as per most of us.. we found ppl applying as early as 3-4months only and as per the HO rules you need to apply 28days before expiry of ur current visa.. so i wld say it is too early to apply now..

It is not clear that whether we're able to extend after April 2011 so it's better to get it extended sooner rather than later.

I hopefully would not need a 2nd ext, as I cam here in Jan 2007 was in a work permit till Sep 2008 and then got Tier 1 which is from Sep 2008 to Sep 2011. I am missing my ILR by just 3 months( due in Jan2012)..so I just need the extn to get that out of my way. The other reason I want to apply is coz of all these new rules coming up..just a bit nervous as to what they will implement after April 2011!
Do you think they will reject my application because it is too early?

Having gone through the immigration rule, I don't think they have a ground to reject you simply because it's too early.
