HSMP extension

Post by sajidzaidi » Mon Jan 24, 2011 8:53 pm

My HSMP was applied before February 28 2008. My Visa is expiring in 2012 and i was told that my case will be processed on the basis of rules that were applicable at that time.

the UK government website calculator does not take a date before 29 February 2008.

Can any one tell me what rules will apply to my case?

can anyone send me the set of rules that were applicable before 28 February 2008?

Regards

Points-based calculator - help
Enter the date you first successfully applied under Tier 1 of the points-based system.
If you first successfully applied under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP)...and you are applying under Tier 1 (General) enter 29 February 2008.
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.

i understand that this is what the website says.
but i was told by a lawyer that since there was no tier 1 scheme before February 28 2008, i have a choice either to choose to apply for tier 1 as the website says or to apply according to the rules that were in place on the date i put in my application.

i such a situation, its surely better to apply under the old rules?

anyone has any ideas??
