Tier 1 g extension application

HI Guyz

I am thinking of applying for my tier 1 extension in the first week of April (before the fees rise), my current leave expires in the first week of june. My main concern is falling short of ILR 5 year period.

Can someone advise?

is it ok to apply in the first week of april , when current leave expires in the firest week of june?
do i need to give a reason in the covering letter?

Please senior member help me with it?

You can apply any time before your current leave expires without having to provide a reason for the same. Do remember that the new leave will be granted from the day that it is approved rather than when ur current leave expires.
