Driving Speeding offense and getting to Canada

Post by British » Sat Sep 30, 2006 12:50 am

Hi,

I read somewhere in the forums here that if one has had a driving - speeding offense i.e. driving at 35 in a 30 miles zone, and consequently resutting in 3 points in Driving license and a £ 60 penalty, but this was issued in a court, then that is a criminal offense!!!!

If that is the case, the main condition in the Canada immigration is never to have been convicted of a criminal offense (irrespective of the fact whether it was considered "spent" under some UK Rehabilation Act), then that person can never be eligible for Canada immigration.

Is this true?

It is not true. This is not a criminal offence and has no bearing on immigration. Your police certificate would not list this as an offence.

Good luck.
