My Canadian PR Card expired in July 2013 and I entered Canada before it expires by one day. I applied for a renewal in June 2013 (from Canada). My husband is Canadian and my kids are Canadians and I was physically present in Canada around 500 days and outside of Canada with my husband around 1000 days (before my application date). Till mid of December I didn't receive any reply from CIC. I called them 3 times, and each time I got to know that my case was sent to another office for extra verification. Lately, I got a letter from them to answer a questionnaire and send many documents and some of them I sent before with my application in June. I will send them the documents but I need to travel outside Canada to join my husband. I was advised to stay in Canada until I get my PR but this is not guaranteed and specially with their long processing time. It took them around 5 months to send me this letter. I was planning to apply for the travel document if they want me to get my PR in person, but also, I was told that it is a big lie and it is not easy to get the travel document. I am in a big dilemma and really need a good advice.
