Chances of getting thru L1, parents are US citizens

Post by skambat » Wed Mar 21, 2007 11:43 am

Hello friends,

I am SKAmbat, 32 yrs of age and unmarried.

Am working as a software engr in India for the last 5 yrs and am planning to avail an L1 ( intracompany ) visa thru my company. Both my parents are US citizens, they had moved to US about 10 yrs back. Now my doubt is - are there any difficulties in getting thru L1 if your parents are US citizens. My friend told me that they count you as a prospective immigrant and might reject your petition. My parents have also applied an I-130 in my favor back in apr 2004. Will this again jeopardize my L1 application ?

Any response for this will be highly appreciated

Thanks
SKAmbat

L1 is a dual intent visa, so it's ok to apply for it and have immigration intent. However, I don't know if applying for two visas at the same time might cause other kinds of problems.
