I-751 - Remove Conditions

Hi, I just mailed in all of the documentation for the I-751. I saw that the Nebraska Center is only working on July of 2003.

I assume that it will take a year or more to get a decision on this, so I was wondering what I need to do when my current Permanent Resident card expires March 3rd 2005.

Also, do I need to get an Advance Parol document to travel back to Canada while I wait for my decision?

Also, my employer was asking if I have to become a US Citizen in order to collect benefits and Medicare in my old age? I know a girl at work had her father pass away and her mother was from Canada, and in order for her mother to get his benefits upon his death, she had to renounce her Canadian citizenship and become a US Citizen, or she would get nothing? Has anyone heard of this?
