I am a UK citizen planning to marry my girlfriend out here in the US. I am currently working out here and we plan to stay here for several years after we marry. In that time can how can we (if we even can) go through the process of applying for a UK visa/citizenship for my fiancé?

Re: the UK visa/citizenship issue, is it possible to apply for citizenship straight away or is there something similar to the green card that we have in the UK and if so can we apply for it while still living in the states?

Please pardon my ignorance but I have to start somewhere. I have looked through the posts on this site but cannot find anything this specific

Many thanks

Currently, she may apply for a spouse visa to live in the UK. Subsequently, she may apply for SET(M). She may later be eligible for British citizenship. However, there may be changes in the future.
