UK to USA Immigration (pregnancy)

Hello!

I am visiting my girlfriend in the USA on an ESTA for just under 90 days, we have found out today that she is pregnant so I am looking for some potential advice on the best way to proceed with being here for the birth, we do intend to proceed with the K1 Visa but we are fully aware processing for that can take upwards of a year. I am self employed as a director for a company (working from home) and have enough funds to support travel and stay back and forth.

What would be the best approach? I am assuming filing for a K1 visa whilst also applying for a tourist visa to cover the time of expectancy?
