US Citizen, marrying Ecuadorian, in Scotland - HELP!!!

Post by KateScott » Mon Jan 05, 2009 5:43 pm

I am a US Citizen (also a UK Citizen) and am planning to marry my Ecuadorian fiance, in Scotland, in April. I am SO confused as to what I have to do and what the timelines are. It appears that I have to apply on an I-130 and then get a K-3 once we are married. However, am I right in thinking that the K-3 has to be obtained in the UK? If so, how long does this visa take to come as we were literally planning on flying to the UK, get married, then go to somewhere else in Europe for a couple of weeks honeymoon, before coming back here. It will be easy for us to prove our relationship from the many, many stamps in our respective passports, plus we have a 2.5 year old daughter with both our names on her birth certificate. Can anyone help me understand what I need to do as I really am confused and can't seem to get through to an appropriate selection on the INS phone service.
