Hi All,
Have just registered on here, and will make my way through all the posts relevant to our situation.
In the meantime, I have a quick question.
My wife (who is an America citizen) and I have been married since 2000. For the longest part of this period, we lived in the US. But we moved to the UK where she has ILR for a while and as it turns out, long enough for my green card to have become deceased, well over the time limit for returning resident status.
Having just learned that our daughter (my step daughter) is going to make us grandparents (sigh I feel old), we feel the need to return and be close to her.
In 1999, we went the fiancee visa route, whereas now, we are married.
My question relates to financial support procedure.
Obviously the jobs we have in the UK show income in the UK, and without actually returning, we won't be earning there. So on what basis is support proven, this is rather a worry, since savings are not going to help.
Can anyone comment on the above? It is likely we could return to our old roles in the US, but how do we vouch income with both of us living in the UK?
Many thanks in advance.
Michael
