Birth certificate from Kolkata

Hi,
I need a long form birth certificate from Kolkata KMC, and after my friend spent months trying to get them to give it, she was told she would need an affidavit to get my birth certificate. I live in the UK, so was wondering if I could get an affidavit from a UK solicitor or perhaps from the High Commission of India. I have tried contacting Consular Services on their number and email and no response. Is there a way for me to get an affidavit that would be valid for KMC to get my birth certificate.

At the moment I cannot travel, so I can't go there in person.

I am also in the same situation,I need a birth certificate from kolkata municipal,my cousin had ben running for me for the past few months but without any success, I would be very grateful if you could share with me how did you finally got it. thanking you in advance.
