Hi,
I would like to start off by thanking all the current members of this forum as there is a lot of useful information available for someone who is struggling with immigration/ visas issues. I am struggling with a couple of issues regarding NICOP (National Identity Card Overseas Pakistanis). I would be very much thankful if somebody can offer me some advice.
Basically me and my wife are British citizens, we both were born in Pakistan but moved here in the UK at a very early age. We are planning to visit Pakistan in Jan 2016 and hence are looking into NICOP.
I have a Nicop which has expired middle of 2014 and my wife has had never had a Pakistani Id card or a nicop. Our baby boy has been born here and also does not have a nicop.
I am looking into renewing my nicop and changing my status to married as previously it was single on nicop and to apply for nicop for my wife and child. Now my two queries are as follows
1) According to Pakistan embassy UK website one of the parents status has to be updated to married before you can apply for child's first nicop. I was wondering if it is possible to put all three of our applications at once. So will it be allowed as they can update my status and then issue baby with the nicop or will I have to wait for mine and my wives nicop to come before I apply for baby's? Any body has any experience of this?
2) Currently my wives British passport shows her as being single, we had our Nikka done but have yet to formally register marriage so in the eye of UK law, we are just living together. However for Islam and Pakistan it's married or not. So if she applies on her nicop as married and it comes through as Mrs. XY and her passport says Miss. XY. Will there be any problem in in travelling like that?
I would appreciate if I can get any help with these queries. Thanks
