Tatkal Indian passport

Hi guys, has anyone applied via tatkal to renew/re-issue your indian passport at the VFS centre in London or the high commission in London? I have several business trips planned and never have a time period long enough to give up my passport to the indian high commission. But they dont seem to accept tatkal unless its a reason like bereavement/medical emergency etc. If anyone has applied for it without these reasons, please share!!
